Kamloops is a city in south central BC, Canada, where the two branches of the Thompson River meet and near Kamloops Lake. It is the center of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District. Kamloops is known as the Tournament Capital of Canada. It is ranked 37th on the list of the 100 largest metropolitan areas in Canada with 92,882 residents in 2006 census.
