Corraini, Tracy - Glass Artist

Published in

Delight and charm infuse the glass works of Barriere artist Tracey Corraini.
Connected to the environment in the scenes she designs and to
the life she leads, the experimental artist admits the medium of glass
is vital to her creativity.
In 1992 while living in Lake Louise, she began using stained glass to
create window hangings, which then lead to torches for beadmaking
and kilns to fuse plates, bowls, etc. She added glassblowing
to the list after attending classes at Calgary’s Alberta College of Art
and Design and settled in Barriere in 2001.
Tracey’s work has been found throughout the local region and
beyond whether it is at an art exhibit, a silent auction, a retail store
or a craft show. She can currently be found through local Barriere
business, Illusions in Glass. Illusions specializes in etched glass, as
well as providing stained and fused glass products to residential and
commercial clients throughout North America.
Tracey continues to set goals for herself. “I am a work in progress,” she says. “Yet I
feel as though all the ideas I have cannot be completed quick enough.” Her hopes for the immediate
future are to be a bigger part of the TNRD Arts and Culture community. She will be attending the
upcoming Celebration of the Arts and Wildfi re Monument dedication ceremonies in July.
